2005 - DENMAN FINK (1920s)

Janet Hessling worked with Evergreene Painting Studios on a project to restore the badly damaged painted plaster in the cupola of the Coral Gables, Florida, City Hall. The original decorations had been overpainted in the 1950s with a completely different color palette. Jan led a team of conservators in test cleanings to determine the condition of the original design and later returned to complete cleaning of one of the eight panels. Because of severe damage to the plaster ceiling and walls, only one panel could be saved to serve as a model for Evergreene's decorative painting department to recreate the lost panels.
