Jan Hessling worked with Evergreene Painting Studios to conserve an elaborate painted ceiling in the Hegeler-Carus Mansion in LaSalle, Illinois. After extensive water damage, the ceiling in this 1874 Victorian mansion had been painted white, covering the delicate design by August Fiedler. Hessling devised a safe method to remove the overpaint without damaging the original design and trained conservation technicians to use the technique. |
